Flitwick Transport Interchange, Bedfordshire
New transport interchange adjacent to the existing entrance of Flitwick Station.
The design will include the provision of a new bus station deck area, relocated cycle and motorcycle parking, an amended station car park layout, drop off/ pick up route, and associated stairs/ramps to access both the railway and bus station. The interchange design is split into two tiers by the introduction of a top deck supported by retaining walls due to the existing levels. This allows for the various modes of transport and routes to the station to be separated for improved safety. An additional element of the works is the provision of a new car park (44 bays).
Broughty Ferry Town Flood Protection, Dundee
The scheme is designed to reduce the risk of flooding to residential, open space, community and businesses within Broughty Ferry. The project required measurement of a new surface water drainage system to remove surface water from the existing combined sewer system, surface water from the carriageway, footways and other hard standings. New discharge elements through the new sea wall. Carriageway and Footway improvement works, to include both a new 4m and in places 5m wide promenade combined footway/cycleway. The works were required to be measured in line with HMMW.
Caol & Lochyside Flood Protection Scheme
Construction of a flood protection scheme to protect 300 properties. The scheme included construction of 1,2 km of flood embankment with rock armour revetment and 0,8 km of in situ concrete wall with rock armour revetment. Included in the scope of the measure were utility diversions, a secondary drainage system, footways, landscaping and a sheet pile wall along the river bank.
University Station Redevelopment, Edgbaston, Birmingham
The station was built to accommodate 400,000 passengers per year and was significantly over capacity, struggling to accommodate the 3.48 million passengers that use the station each year. Scope included construction of a new station building for University Station, with station facilities (including ancillary retail floorspace within Use Classes A1/A3 up to a maximum of 250 sqm), forecourt area and canal footbridge along with associated infrastructure and landscaping on land to the north of the existing station building.
Feltham new Depot and Mainline works – civils depot package
Construction of a train stabling depot at the Former Feltham Marshalling Yard to support the introduction of new Rolling Stock (701 Fleet) and increase capacity along the Waterloo to Reading and Windsor Lines. Works comprised the construction of sidings to the east of Feltham station and to the south of the existing railway line.
A120 Pellens Corner/Harwich Road Roundabout
Project involved the construction of a four-armed roundabout connecting A120 and Harwich Road including ap closures on A120 at Park Road and Pellen’s Corner. works extended from 200m west of Harwich Road Junction to 200m east of Pellen’s Corner Junction. Measures were provided in MMHW for Drainage, Earthworks, Excavation/cold milling of existing carriageway for reconstruction, Sub Base, kerbs, Binder, Surface Course, fencing & RRS.
